This summer, UConn's Neag School of Education is offering two 3-credit courses, EDCI 5875 Multicultural Education and EDCI 5890 Educational Linguistics. 100% Online. While a part of UConn's Educating Bilingual Learners online graduate certificate, non-matriculated individuals can take this course as Non-Degree students. Credits earned within these course may be transferred into the certificate or may be appropriate to fulfill requirements within other degree programs.

EDCI 5875 – Multicultural Education (3-credits)

The Multicultural Education course provides an overview of the interrelationships between education and various sociocultural aspects of cultural diversity and cultural pluralism, including language acquisition and diversity.

The Educational Linguistics course provides an overview of the study of language and linguistics, and especially applied linguistics, with emphasis on their implications for classroom teachers. Includes principles of second language acquisition.
